fingerprint encryption

i press my finger gently to the screen
tapped and held there to absorb the image

you ire me with your firstness
your absence lingers, congeals, prescribes

with my fingers, appeals, and inscriptions
a foreign call
a simulated impression
an ache both desired and aborted

blood is so dark i now recall
the cervical scraping
the vaginal wall

with glee my time spins forth
with sorrow does it pall

a bout of sunshine, a gasp of wind

too much, i’ve said already
to suffer no reply

spring

mother gaia
into your bosom bellows,
dew-sodden,
take me

your heart
plasma-rich atomic
seismic and brave, it echoes
in me

but gaia, hear me

your earthworms
congealed in procreation

your pair of crows
fagots of twigs bunched in beaks
their hidden aerie to be lined

i droop
and need to be watered
and the earthworm to weave and shit
through my soil

but more, i need—

a mate
